The mobile phone zombies

It’s been a while since I’ve written my thoughts. Have always wanted to keep up with this discipline of writing.

Traveling to Macau and HK this round made me see how human beings have been evolving in our EQ and communication skills. When I was in HK, 4 out of 5 commuters on the trains were glue-stuck to their mobile phones. Pedestrians walk with the heads bowed and looking at the phones, human beings do not communicate with each other anymore. When people like us who still chit chat with each other (loudly), we seemed to be making a lot of noise. At first, I did not notice what was the problem, but after a while, i noticed, it’s not because we’re loud, it’s because no other were actually talking. I came to realise this when a group of 8-10 spanish youngsters board the train that we were on. When they board, it seemed like they’re making a lot of noise! but when in fact, it’s just that the train was too silent – with no one actually speaking to each other.

Some people who traveled with me was also glue stuck to their phone. It seemed like they couldnt live without their phones and the saddest is that it’s not because of the requirement of the jobs, but they’re on social media most of the time! Sending photos to people who are not too close to each other. Feeding his ego with responses and envies from others.

These is the generation that cant live without their phones and the Internet. It is like an invisible cult that bind the human soul to the devices!
