A Brother’s Love

Filed under: Uncategorized — lisaping @ 12:15 am

I was at the Pediatric Clinic yesterday. I saw something that brought tears to my eyes.

There was a little girl, around age of 4 (?) … she is a down syndrome girl. she was running happily towards the playground in the clinic. Then, I saw a boy, around age of 10 to 12 (?) wearing glasses, and walking behind her. This boy was right by the girl’s side (I presume that’s her brother) taking care of the little girl. The little girl wanted to slide down the slide, the little boy was just beside the slide, holding her. Whereever the girl went, the brother was right at her side. I was so touched with what I saw, mainly because 1) this boy though he is a child himself was so matured and was taking care of the sister whom wasnt too normal in the sight of the public. 2) the boy  loves the sister despite all other weird looks from the public. 3) the girl is so lucky to be unlucky, with such loving mother and boy.

i was complaining about how “unlucky” i was because of Lucas’ mild conditions like eczema; umbilical hernia; and refluxes. i was really counting my not-blessings instead of my blessings. but when i saw this little girl, i had to remind myself that Lucas is so preciously healthy! We tend to be looking at the negative sides of things easier and we forgotten that we’re not the worst in life.
